Chaos to Calm
On July 6, 2024, Sarah and Jordan were peacefully saying “I do” inside their church—completely unaware of the chaos happening behind the scenes. Despite the rain, their ceremony was full of love, and made even more meaningful as their little girl walked them down the aisle as the sweetest flower girl—an absolutely heart-melting moment.
Over at Fielding Park, the reception tent was flooding. Water was rising, the bartender couldn’t set up, and lightning forced everyone to clear out of the space. Thankfully, a small building across the park had been reserved for cocktail hour. As soon as the ceremony ended, Kayla and Jason jumped into action. While the couple stayed behind with their photographer, Micheal from aKaiser Photo, to take photos, Kayla and Jason rushed to the park to help Baily move everything—tables, décor, bar setup—into the new space. They had it all done in under ten minutes, just as guests began to arrive.
The couple didn’t even find out what had happened until after the ceremony—because we wanted them to enjoy every moment of their vows while we handled everything behind the scenes.
Despite the unexpected chaos, Sarah and Jordan embraced their day with joy and laughter. Before the wedding, they did the cheesiest (and funniest) studio photo shoot and turned their silly poses into custom wine bottle labels—one for each guest table. It was a hit! Dinner featured a delicious buffet with perfectly cooked steak, and their favors were sweet little candy bags labeled “His Favourites” and “Her Favourites.”
They cut their cake outside in the most adorable way—just the two of them, smiling from ear to ear—and ended the night around a cozy s’mores campfire. But the most romantic moment came after the storm passed, when the couple returned to their original (now empty) reception tent and shared a private dance together, just the two of them.
It’s proof that no matter what happens on your wedding day, when you stay focused on love and positivity, the outcome can still be absolutely magical.
