A Medieval Wedding Celebration

Step into the realm of Genevieve and Zack’s magical wedding day, held on August 19, 2023, in the lower hall of the Caruso Club—transformed into their very own castle for the night. With medieval vibes in full swing, every detail brought their fairytale vision to life, from dragons and swords to crystals and court jesters.

The couple’s cake was a showstopper—two towering tiers adorned with purple crystals, mushrooms, and a fierce dragon perched on top. Miniature armored knights and sword-wielding figurines guarded the top, setting the scene for an epic “cake-cutting” moment. In true fantasy fashion, the groomsmen and maid of honour dramatically carried the cake into the room, court-jester style, before the couple slayed the dragon and cut the cake with a real sword.

Even with a fractured leg in three places, Genevieve was unstoppable. Her determination and joy shone throughout the day, and nothing—not even crutches—could dim her light. In a moment that perfectly reflected their vibrant spirits, the couple stopped by their favourite local art and music event, Up Here Fest, to take dreamy, urban portraits and dance the afternoon away in full wedding attire before heading to the reception.
